Meet the SEND Managers

Mrs Kirby

SENCO KS3

Hello, my name is Mrs Kirby and I am the KS3 SENCo. I have worked at Forge since 2008. I am also a PSHE teacher. I love helping students to ensure that they are the best that they can be.

I am an enthusiastic member of the SEND team and I enjoy working with students and their families to provide the support that they need to become independent learners.

I enjoy travelling, spending time with my family, and visiting theme parks.

Mrs Chambers

SENCO KS4/5

Hi everyone, my name is Mrs Chambers and I am the KS4/5 SENCo. I am also a Design and Technology teacher and have been teaching for almost 10 years. I have been part of the Forge family since February 2020 and I look forward to welcoming you.

I love nothing more than making a difference and seeing students grow in confidence and ability. I feel very lucky to do my job and meeting the students I get to work with.

I love spending time with my family and seeing new corners of the World. I enjoy visiting design exhibitions, learning new crafts and martial arts.

Mrs D’Mello

Whole school Intervention Manager

Hello, my name is Mrs D’Mello. My job includes managing our on site alternative provision and pupil support unit. I also manage all of the interventions delivered by the pastoral team. I support the SEN team by liaising with all of our external agencies that offer support in school. Essentially, my job is to make sure that all of the students who need support, get it!

I love being creative and I’m always teaching myself how to do new things- sewing, embroidery, candle making, furniture upcycling- you name it, I have probably tried it!

Miss Lyttle

SEND Aministrator

Hello, my name is Miss Lyttle and I am the SEND Administrator here at Ormiston Forge Academy. I’ve worked at Forge for six months and I am excited to be supporting both the staff and the students in the SEND department.

I’m very patient and always willing to help others, which always makes me happy. I love to go on walks, spending time with my family and learning different languages.

Miss Edwards

ACCESS Manager

Hello, my name is Miss Edwards and I work in the SEND department here at Ormiston Forge. I run Maths interventions to help students gain confidence in their mathematical abilities. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have worked here for 14 years. We are a great team and work hard with our students so that they can learn and are happy in school.

Spending time with my family is very important to me, I also love taking long walks with my dog, listening to music and watching films.

Miss S. Moore

SEND Interventions Manager

Hello, my name is Miss Moore and I am the SEMH Intervention Lead here at Forge. I started working in the SEND department over four years ago. I work with students to help with their social, emotional and mental health needs. We are a fantastic team, where everyone works together to ensure our students receive the support they need to succeed.

Most of my free time is taken up with after-school activities and going to watch football on the weekend. I like eating out, watching films and visiting new places.

Mrs Smith

Literacy Intervention Lead

Hello, I’m Mrs Smith and I have worked at Ormiston Forge for 14 years. I work with the SEND department. I have a passion for ensuring all students are happy and successful. Here at Forge we want all students to be resilient, have aspirations and not only respectful towards others but also to themselves.

I love spending time with my family and friends, especially my 3 year old niece who brings me so much enjoyment. I enjoy listening to all genres of music and watching all different kinds of films.

Miss H. Moore

English SEND tutor

Hi my name is Miss Moore and I am the SEND English Tutor here at Ormiston Forge Academy. As part of my job, I support students with their English skills, giving them a little extra help and revision on a one-to-one or small group basis. When I am not tutoring, I am supporting students within mainstream lessons, helping them get the most out of their learning. I also act as a key adult for a small group of children, providing support and reassurance in times of need, always being a friendly and familiar face they can go to.

Mr Siviter

Maths SEND tutor

Hi, my name is Mr Siviter. I worked in Game Development as an Indie Dev and as a Computer Science teacher for 5 years before making the switch to being a teaching assistant. I believe that every student should feel valued and supported in education.

I am a patient and calm person, always happy to help with anything that I can. I enjoy hanging out and gaming with my friends, and occasionally dabble in speedrunning for gaming marathons to raise money for various charities.

Mrs Oakley

Hi, I’m Miss Oakley and I am a Teaching Assistant here at Ormiston forge. I have been here since January, and I am very excited to be here to help make a difference. I have already met so many brilliant children and helped them on their learning journey and the team I work with are amazing.

I believe every child should get the chance to fully understand what they are learning in their lessons and have access to that extra help and support if needed. It’s amazing to see the children’s confidence grow.

Miss Winwood

Hello, my name is Miss Winwood and I am a Teaching Assistant. I have worked at Ormiston Forge for over two years now and it brings me so much joy to see the difference I can make in my students learning and wellbeing. It is also such a pleasure to provide students with the support and care they deserve. I have a very warm and approachable way about me, and I love having a laugh and joke with the students. One of the best parts of the job is putting a smile on the children’s faces and making them feel safe and supported.

I love to read in my spare time, and I am very passionate about music and the arts. The majority of my time outside of work is spent with my friends and loved ones usually going for food or just out socialising.

Hello, my name is Miss Webster. I have worked at forge for over 5 years. I previously worked in the main office and then realised I had a passion to make a difference in students’ lives and help them succeed.

I am a kind, caring, approachable person and want to ensure students become the best versions of themselves. I enjoy reading, listening to music and going on adventures with my daughter.

Hello, my name is Miss Guest and I have worked here for 21 years. I have supported students in all the curriculum areas over the years. I believe that all students should be able to access all subjects at their own ability.

I am approachable, caring and love to see students enjoy school. I am a polite, friendly person. I enjoy reading, gardening and being with family and my 2 cats.

Hi! I’m Miss Carter, a teaching assistant at Ormiston Forge Academy. I would consider myself a caring, supportive, and positive individual. I really enjoy supporting our students here at Forge and helping them to reach their full potential.

I spend a lot of my free time with my family, reading or going out with my friends.

Mrs Hipkiss

Hello, My name is Mrs Hipkiss and I am a Teaching Assistant here at Forge. Before becoming a TA I worked in a Nursery for 11 years as Deputy Manager/ Room Leader. I worked with children and young people with SEND and have always believed that all students should feel safe and have the opportunity to grow. I am a caring and supportive person who will always help with anything I can. I always make sure I make the day enjoyable for the students.

I love spending time with my family when I am not at work. I am creative person and make my own wax melts in my own time, which I love to do.

Miss N. Moore

Hi, my name is Miss Moore. I am a Teaching Assistant and I have worked at Forge for 2 years. Before starting at Forge I worked for nearly 20 years as a Care Assistant for the elderly but wanted a career change that would make a difference. My son came to Forge and was supported by ACCESS (known then as SUCCESS) and I saw the work that took place to support him. I wanted to do the same for other students to really make a difference.

I am a kind, caring and approachable person and want to support students so they can achieve their best. I enjoy drawing, painting and anything that involves Art! I like to make cakes and spend time with my family and friends.

Ms O’Reilly

My name is Ms O’Reilly and I have worked as a TA at Forge Academy for 2 years supporting SEND children in lessons and in Access. I have worked in education for 20 years in a safeguarding background, which helps me to assist children in both their education and school life.

My hobbies include swimming, dancing, yoga and socialising.

Hello, my name is Ms Smart and I have worked at Ormiston Forge for 18 years. I have, in that time, supported across all subject areas. I am a very kind and supportive person and I love being able to improve a student’s academic progress.

I love spending time with my family and I enjoy swimming and walking my dog.

Miss Thorpe

Hello, my name is Miss Thorpe and I work as a Teaching Assistant, supporting students in lessons. I have worked here for 21 years and I’m very passionate about ensuring students feel valued, happy and safe while they are with us at Forge. I really enjoy working with our students and find it very rewarding being part of an amazing and dedicated team. I get great joy helping students to grow into confident, happy individuals that can overcome challenges and succeed.

Family is extremely important to me and I love spending as much time with them as I possibly can. I also love reading, especially about Queens from the past.

Mr Southall

Hello, my name is Mr Southall. I am a Teaching Assistant at Ormiston Forge. I worked in a broad spectrum special needs school for 3 years before coming here. I enjoy supporting young people to learn and grow in all areas of their development.

I am a kind, compassionate and patient person. I am always happy to help anyone who needs it. I enjoy going out with my friends, playing video games and learning about history. I love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

Mrs Hunter

Hi, my name is Mrs Hunter. I am a teaching assistant apprentice here at Forge. I worked 7 years before as an auxiliary nurse in the NHS. Before this I worked backstage in theatres. I believe every child has the right to feel safe, secure, and happy at school.

I am a caring, friendly open person. I like making people feel happy and comfortable. I like gaming, watching films (especially Marvel!) I love anime and manga. I like spending time with my pets and children.

Miss Clutterbuck

Hey, my name is Miss Clutterbuck and I am an apprentice Teaching Assistant here at Ormiston Forge. I have always wanted to work with SEND children and children with mental health to help them to the best of my ability.

I am understanding and laid back. I want to be able to help children in need as well as joke around to cheer them up. I enjoy rock music, playing video games and studying pathology in my spare time. I enjoy watching horror movies and sleeping.

Miss Tudor

Hello! My name is Miss Tudor, and I am a Teaching Assistant Apprentice here at Ormiston Forge Academy. I help students reach their goals, by supporting them academically and emotionally. I believe having a positive role model around students, can encourage respectful relationships and can also model good behaviour.

Outside of school, family is very important to me. I love to travel, spend time with friends and have two pugs that I love to walk! Any time I have to myself, I like to crochet whilst watching a good boxset!

Uniform and Equipment

The School Uniform consists of:

School tie
Black blazer with embroidered Academy logo
Plain black trousers
Plain black knee length skirt
Plain black jumper (optional), (no sweatshirts)
Shirt/Blouse – White (no casual shirts or t-shirts)
Head scarf – (optional) plain black
Polish-able plain black shoes or ALL black trainers
Outdoor coat in a plain, dark colour (not leather or denim)

PE Kit

Black/burgundy Polo shirt, with Academy logo.
Plain black football-style shorts (cycling shorts can only be worn underneath football shorts).
Plain black tracksuit bottoms (discreet logo is acceptable) OR black tracksuit bottoms, supplied via our approved PE kit supplier.
Leggings are allowed to be worn underneath football shorts.
Plain black football socks (outdoor)
Plain white sport socks (indoor)
Appropriate footwear for the activity; suitable trainers for indoors and sturdy trainers or moulded stud boots for the Astroturf.

It is essential that students come to school fully prepared to ensure a productive day of learning. Students are expected to bring a school bag (pouches are not permitted), a pencil case with pencils, pens, ruler, rubber, a scientific calculator and a refillable water bottle. Your support in reinforcing these standards is greatly appreciated.

Get Involved – Enrichment Clubs

There are clubs for pupils running at lunchtimes and after school. There are plenty of clubs for pupils to choose from such as: Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Club, Chess Club, Music Jamming Club, Badminton, Football, Computer Club, Nintendo club, Art club and many many more!

Get Involved – School Trips

Throughout the academic year, departments encourage students to take part in trips. In previous years, the Academy has taken students to places in both the UK and abroad.

Activities week is always a great opportunity to take part in trips like these.
