At the heart of the Forge Family is the Mountain Centre.
The Mountain Centre is based in Dinas Mawddwy, in the valleys of South Wales, around 90 miles from Birmingham. It offers our students the opportunity to pursue outward bound activities away from the more urban environment where our school is based.
The centre was founded by former Headteacher, John Parker, and has been a part of the Forge Family for over 20 years. It serves as a unique offering not available at other secondary schools.
The Mountain Centre is used by students, staff and governors throughout the academic year for:
The centre is a self-catered facility that can hold up to 30 students and 6 staff per visit.
Student voice and active involvement play an important part in the upkeep and future developments at the Mountain Centre, and we encourage as many students as possible to make use of this provision.
