It is the intention of the Social Sciences curriculum to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of our legal system alongside exploring trends and patterns in criminal behaviour.
to remain up-to-date with current affairs which will enable them to think critically, ask perspective questions and analyse academic debates which attempt to explain the problems we face in the twenty-first century.
We study the fine details of criminal law, tort law and human rights law within A Level Law.
In A Level Psychology, we look to explain human behaviour and how psychologists conduct research.
In A Level Sociology, we study concepts such as Marxism and Feminism to explain discrimination within society regarding class, gender and ethnicity.
In Criminology, students will focus on key aspects of law, psychology and sociology to explore how crime is perceived, how the criminal justice system operates and what drives some individuals to become criminals.
