How to Apply

Applications for September 2027. 

Applications for students wishing to start sixth form in September 2027 are now being accepted. 

Any student who applies by 18th December 2026 and is awarded a place in sixth form will receive an increased learning grant of £250 per academic year, so £500 over a two-year programme of study. 

You can apply to our sixth form by filling in one of our four online application forms below. You only need to complete one of the forms.  The application form you need to complete will depend on the type of courses you are wanting to take and whether you are interested in one of specialist pathways. The four forms are as follows:  

A level application form:  complete this form if you’re looking to take A level courses, or a mixture of A levels and vocational subjects that are equivalent to one A level, such as a V level or single option BTEC.  

Vocational application form: complete this form if you’re interested in one of our full-time vocational courses in sport, health and social care or business.  

Medicine Pathway application form: Complete this form if you aspire to study medicine long-term and wish to receive the full package of support we offer to our students who follow our medicine pathway.  This will lead to you studying A level Chemistry, A level Biology and a third subject of your choice.  

Law pathway application form: Complete this form if you’re interested in building a career in law and want to benefit from the full range of enrichment opportunities we provide to our law students.  This will lead to you studying A level Law and two other subjects of your choice.

  • What happens after an application has been submitted?  
  •  You’ll receive a letter confirming receipt of your application once you’ve submitted one.  
  • You’ll be asked to attend a short interview afterwards, which your parents / carers can attend with you.  At the end of the interview, it will be confirmed if you’ve been awarded a conditional place at sixth form (a place will be awarded subject to you achieving the GCSE grades required).    
  • If you’re awarded a place in sixth form, you’ll be asked to attend a summer induction day on Friday 2nd July 2027, during which you’ll get to meet the teachers who’ll be teaching you in sixth form.  
  • On GCSE results day (Thursday 20th August 2027), you’ll be able to enrol in year 12 after you’ve collected your results.
