Year 10 Gurdwara Trip

A spiritual gathering in a Sikh temple featuring devotees engaged in prayer and reflection.

Year 10 students will be visiting a local Gurdwara as part of their Religious Education curriculum. This visit provides an invaluable opportunity for students to experience Sikh culture and traditions first-hand. During the trip, students will learn about the core beliefs of Sikhism, the significance of the Gurdwara in the community, and the practices that take place within this sacred space.

The visit will include a guided tour of the prayer hall, an explanation of the Guru Granth Sahib (the Sikh holy scripture), and an introduction to the principles of equality and service that underpin Sikh life. Students may also have the chance to observe or participate in the Langar (community kitchen), which reflects the Sikh value of sharing and hospitality.

This experience aims to deepen students’ understanding of world religions and promote respect and appreciation for cultural diversity.
