Dear Parent/Guardian,
Over the following weeks, your son/daughter will be selecting the courses that they wish to continue to study throughout Key Stage 4. During this time, they will receive information and guidance from their progress tutor, their teachers and hopefully from you. Students and parents can also discuss options linked to specific careers and university courses with Bev Evans (Careers Advisor) and Tracey Beech (Aim Higher/Access Project).
This week, you will receive communication via email outlining the options process and the support available to both students and yourselves. You will also be provided with a sample option form to have a look at. There will also be two opportunities for parents to book appointments with staff to discuss options, as detailed below.
Information about all of the Key Stage 4 courses is in the options booklet that is available on the Academy website and a paper copy can be provided on request. I would advise all students and parents to read through this information over the coming weeks. Choosing the correct combination of subject options is an important step and reading through the course outlines will assist in this respect.
Visit the Options 2021 page on the website.
The option process is outlined below:
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting Mr Kay (Assistant Principal for Key Stage 4), Mr Jenks (Assistant Principal for Key Stage 3), Mr Daly (Senior Leader for Key Stage 3) or me, here at the Academy.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs C Davies
