25/6/2020 – How Does Social Media Affect Teenagers?
It’s no secret that teenagers love their social media. Whether it’s sharing photos on Instagram or performing a clever dance on TikTok, social media gives teens a sense of identity and belonging.
This report from Social Bakers provides an excellent overview of both the positive factors and the risks associated with social media. There is also some good advice on finding a balance.
Over time, teens should have the opportunity to build trust by demonstrating responsible digital behaviour. Although social media poses obvious risks, it’s a part of everyday life and a powerful tool for teens who know how to use it responsibly.
