Communication with school

Dear parents and carers 

At the end of a busy half term that included our major celebration event, Prize Giving 2021-22 which had been carried over from last year due to the pandemic, we look forward to a shorter half term before Easter. 

I have a few key messages for you to consider please:  

Communication with school 

We try to work to the following protocols: 

  • An initial response can be expected within 1 working day of you contacting the school 
  • Should initial contact not deal with the issue then further contact will be made within 5 working days. 

Due to the sheer volume of calls we receive every day, the best way to contact the school is through the contact form on the website https://ormistonforgeacademy.co.uk/contact . Emailing to [email protected] is a secondary method. Please note that any messages directed to our Principal, Dr Mason will most likely be responded to by the most appropriate member of staff who knows your son/daughter or the situation that is being raised. 

Please also note that we require staff to observe a strict email curfew between 6 pm and 7 am so any emails received during the curfew period will be dealt with the next day. We do not respond to contact made through social media. 

Ready To Learn 

We have been pleased with the student response to our ready to learn drive, where we are expecting all students to arrive with the minimum equipment expectation and in full uniform. However, there are a small minority we are working actively with to ensure they meet our expectations. All students are expected to wear full uniform every day. The daily uniform includes: 

  • Shirt, tie and blazer 
  • Appropriate school trousers (no jeans/jeggings/leggings) 
  • A black v-neck jumper with no logos 
  • Black polishable school shoes 
  • No visible facial piercings 
  • No hoodies
