Year 11 Mock Exams and Revision

I am writing to let you know that year 11 students will be completing their final mock examinations from Thursday 17th February until Friday 11th March.

Dear parents and carers

I am writing to let you know that year 11 students will be completing their final mock examinations from Thursday 17th February until Friday 11th March. These mock examinations are designed to allow students to independently prove what they know and understand. They are rigorous and students are expected to revise and fully prepare for them. Teachers will be planning their lessons to ensure that students are well prepared for this examination period. We expect students to be working at home every evening; completing independent tasks set by teachers and completing independent revision.

We want all students to have high aspirations. As a result, we have been working tirelessly to ensure that students are aware of their own progress in all of their subjects. Students have collated their examinations in folders allowing them to identify gaps in their own knowledge and create learning opportunities to close them. All students are expected to attend every day, complete all mock examinations and ensure they have a 100% attendance prior, during and after the mock examination period.

Our revision sessions will continue following their introduction in the autumn term. In addition to our usual daily revision sessions, we will be opening the Academy during February half-term for additional sessions. These sessions will be tailored towards supporting mock exam revision and we would encourage your child to attend as many sessions as possible.

Please find the mock exam timetable below. You can also download the original letter HERE.

Finally, all teachers create opportunities for independent study at home. This is crucial in driving student improvement and supporting students to maximise their potential. These tasks and activities require completion and submission in whatever way the teacher has instructed. Following instructions is part of our Academy expectations and students will be rewarded for completion of these tasks. Likewise, failure to complete these tasks will result in sanctions. The biggest reward, however, is knowing that all students are doing their absolute best and this will bring its own rewards when mock exam results are shared.
