Students and their parents will be able to access and experience a whole range of virtual experiences which will help them make a decision about their post 16 options in September 2021.
Throughout November and December, prospective parents will be able to meet our assistant principal for sixth form, learn how to apply to sixth form and hear from lots of students and staff about sixth form life. We're also taking requests! If there's a particular area of the sixth form that interests you, let us know and we'll do our very best to plan some activity around it.
Assistant principal, Darren Grimes, said: “Of course we are disappointed that we can't invite families in through the door but safety comes first for everyone. We’ve been meticulous in our planning and communications throughout the pandemic and it’s really important that we provide a safe, enjoyable experience for one of the biggest decisions that a family will make together. These e-vents will give families the opportunity to make the right decision for post 16 education.
"Our results have shown that over the last few years, students who study in our sixth form do well and this year we are launching a new A level pathway to guide students to careers in medicine. We’ve created an environment where students are able to flourish; it’s a safe place where they have academic and pastoral support, and the result is that they are happy and successful.
"Our 'Football Scholarship programme is going from strength to strength and our applied general results are above the local average. We are really looking forward to showing our outcomes to prospective parents and students.
"All of our content will be spread over our accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube - so follow and subscribe now. Our new website will collate all of the links and content so you have a central hub of information."
