Covid Update - Staff

A short note today to provide you with a Covid update, a member of staff tested positive today.

Dear parents and carers,

A short note today to provide you with a Covid update; as I have said before, I feel that it is important I keep everyone informed of any developments.

A member of staff tested positive today. The member of staff was last on site on Friday 13th November. Their symptoms started late Friday evening and following a test they received a positive result. They have not had close contact with any students and therefore we have been advised that no further action needs to be taken.

The DfE guidance states that close contact means:

  • Direct close contacts – face to face contact with an infected individual for any length of time, within 1 metre, including being coughed on, a face to face conversation, or unprotected physical contact (skin-to-skin)
  • Proximity contacts – extended close contact (within 1 to 2 metres for more than 15 minutes) with an infected individual
  • Travelling in a small vehicle, like a car, with an infected person.

The guidance that we have received is to ask any member of staff or students that have had close contact with the infected person, to isolate for 14 days from the last time they had contact with the person. A household member of the infected person, who attends Forge, has also been asked to self isolate.

It is important to stress that if we all follow the Government guidance, we are protecting one another. Thank you for your continuing support and I’m sure that you will join me at this time wishing all families who are suffering from this virus, a speedy recovery.

Many thanks,

Dr Lisa Mason
