Year 11 - final exam and leavers' assembly

The end of year 11 is fast approaching and with just under two weeks left until the final exam, I wanted to write to you to give you some vital information regarding the end of the year.

Dear parents and carers

The end of year 11 is fast approaching and with just under two weeks left until the final exam, I wanted to write to you to give you some vital information regarding the end of the year.

On Thursday 23rd June, students will sit their physics exam which will be the final time the whole year 11 cohort will be in for an exam. This exam starts at 9:30 and for trilogy science students will finish at 10:45 and for triple science students will finish at 11:15.

I am very excited to be able to inform you that on the afternoon of Thursday 23rd June, we will be hosting our first in-person leavers’ assembly for 3 years. This will give students the opportunity to say farewell to staff and fellow peers within the Academy. At this assembly, students will be able to take photos with friends, sign leavers books and share fond memories of their time at Ormiston Forge Academy. We will supply pizza and drinks for the students to enjoy during the assembly.

Arrival for the leavers’ assembly will start at 1:30pm with the official assembly starting at 2pm in the sports hall and will last until approximately 3pm. Following this, students will have time to mingle with other students and staff for one final time. This event is a non-uniform event so students will be dismissed at the end of the physics exam to go home, get changed and come back into the Academy in their own clothes. If this is a problem for any students due to distance then please contact me and we can make other arrangements.

We will also have some boxes for any uniform in good condition that you would like to donate to the Academy for students to bring in.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the Academy throughout your child’s time with us. We are looking forward to seeing the majority of them in our sixth form next year.

Yours faithfully,

Mr K. Bradley
Associate Senior Leader (KS4)/Head of Year 11
