Year 11 Parents - letter (sixth form open event)

I would like to invite you to our annual sixth form open event, which takes place later this month on Thursday 25th November from 5pm to 7pm.

Dear parents and carers

I would like to invite you to our annual sixth form open event, which takes place later this month on Thursday 25th November from 5pm to 7pm. The evening will provide you with the opportunity to gain an insight into the courses your child could undertake in sixth form. You can also discover the wide range of enrichment experiences we provide to our sixth form students in order to develop them as individuals and prepare them for either university or the world of work.

Staff responsible for delivering A level and BTEC courses will be present throughout the evening, along with a number of current sixth form students. As a result, there will be the opportunity to ask any specific questions you may have about the content of courses, entry requirements and forms of assessment. Also in attendance will be representatives from a number of local universities. They will be at hand to provide information regarding the degree courses that students can eventually progress to after completing A level and/or BTEC courses.

To control the flow of visitors throughout the evening I would appreciate it if you would arrive between 5pm-6pm if your child’s surname begins with the letters A-L, and 6pm-7pm if their surname begins with M-Z.

In addition to the open event, you are also more than welcome to book an individual appointment with me to review your child’s latest predicted GCSE grades and discuss the A level and/or BTEC courses they are likely to be suitable for next year. If you would like to book an appointment please email me using the email address below and I will arrange a time to meet with you.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information about sixth form and I hope to see you in person during our open event.

Yours faithfully

Mr D Grimes
