NEET Figures

A school is judged by a number of facts, figures and results. I believe that one of the most important is how many students that leave the school become NEET the following year. This means the number of students that are not in education, employment or training. We were really pleased with our 2012 figure of 3%, which is excellent. We have eclipsed that figure, with the 2013 figure being 0%….none of our ex students are not engaging.

Training with Students

Last week we had a first training event where staff trained alongside students. Our students were, as usual, exemplary. The highlight for me came when I asked the young man on my table if there was anything he was surprised by? He replied, “teachers don’t have all the answers”

Mountain Centre

The centre is nearing the final stages of its refurbishment. I went to the centre with a few teachers and some 6th Form students on Friday. I was really pleased with the quality of the work, but most importantly the response of the students. They were worried that by renovating the centre we would lose the feel and integrity. I need not have worried, Jake’s first response was “Wow!!”
