Head Girl and Head Boy for 2015/16

Chloe Knott and Daniel Grice and have started their term as newly appointed Head Girl and Head Boy for Ormiston Forge Academy.

The positions of Head Girl and Head Boy provide a key leadership and a supportive role for students across the academy. The roles are selected annually and are open to all students in year 12 ahead of their move to year 13.

Commenting on their appointment, Chloe and Daniel appreciate the important role models that they have become. They see the role as being a combination of advisor and mentor to fellow students, in particular the new year 7 students who have joined the academy this September.

“I’m honoured to be part of the ongoing success of the academy, I want to ensure that every student gets the same opportunities that have been afforded me. We work hard inside and outside the classroom, this is why our academy community is so strong,” said Chloe who is from Rowley Regis.

Daniel from Halesowen added: “I’ve been on a journey at Forge and I’m delighted to have been chosen by my peers to represent them. We’re a big academy with nearly 1,400 students and it is important that every single one of them has a voice.”

Students join Ormiston Forge Academy at any point from year 7 to year 12 (6th form) and so the roles of Head Girl and Head Boy are instrumental in supporting all students as they arrive and progress throughout the academy.

Andrew Burns, Principal, added “The selection of Chloe and Daniel as Head Girl and Head Boy is a great choice and I’m really looking forward to working with them as they take on this important role for our Forge family.”
