Update from Sandwell Police Partnerships

We have been asked to share this message from Sandwell Police Partnerships. Thank you.

Dear Parents and Carers

Coronavirus Lockdown: A message from your local community police

Covid19 has disrupted the lives of everybody which is why the government introduced a clear set of guidelines for us all to follow around social distancing. The high majority of families and their children in Sandwell are following the guidelines; however, we are starting to see an increase in the amount of children and young people not adhering to these rules.

It is really important to follow the social distancing guidelines as it will ensure the NHS is protected and will save lives.

Please can we ask for your assistance in ensuring that your children continue to follow the social distancing guidelines by staying at home and not meeting with their friends. The police do have powers to act if people are not following the current rules but we would prefer to work with you to help us keep the whole community safe.

Your Local Police are adopting an Engage, Explain, Encourage, Enforce approach with focus on the earlier stages, however, if needed enforcement is an option that will be used.

Kind regards
