** Parent Communication **

Dear families,

We have made the difficult decision to close the school tomorrow (Friday 9th January 2026). This decision has not been taken lightly and takes into account, not only the current weather situation, but also potential staffing implications arising as a knock-on effect of so many other schools already being closed. We have also had to ensure the safety of all students and staff on their journey to school, especially having assessed the surrounding pathways in previous days.

Staff will, where possible, set work online via ClassCharts but, in cases where this is not possible, students should use their time to complete independent study. This could include completing homework tasks or accessing work via our various online platforms such as ClassCharts, Sparx Maths, Sparx English and Sparx Science, as well as GCSEPod for our Key Stage 4 students. We would also encourage our students to take the opportunity to do some private reading and independent revision for upcoming assessments.

Our sixth form BTEC exams will still go ahead as planned. Students should meet in the main reception at 08:45 am for the morning ICT exam and 12:45 pm for the afternoon Health & Social Exam. Students will then be safely escorted to their exam room.

We anticipate being able to reopen on Monday, but in the event of further inclement weather, we will contact you via ClassCharts.

Thank you for your continued support.

Dr Mason
