Ormiston Forge Academy Students Celebrate Top A Level Results

Ormiston Forge Academy in Cradley Heath confirmed its position as one of the top schools in the area for sixth form study, with another excellent set of A level results achieved. Overall, 15% of A level entries at the academy secured the top A* or A grade and over a third of A level exams undertaken secured an A* to B. 85% of the A level cohort have achieved 3 or more A level passes at grades A*-E. This is an improvement on the 2017 student pass rate. 50% of A level students achieved 3 or more A level passes at grades A*-C. The average point score (APS), a national marker, for A level students has also increased by over 3 points from 26.07 in 2017 to 29.65 which means that the average grade achieved by A level students has improved from C- in 2017 to a strong grade C. The overall progress score for A level students at Forge stands at +0.15 which is an increase from +0.13 in 2017, indicating that, as a cohort, A level students have performed above expectations. These top results are mirrored in Applied General results with students who have undertaken Applied General courses achieving an average grade of Merit+.
